21 April 2003, Anouk in Amsterdam
March 1, I had great plans to visit Anouk's first concert with a
very great friend I met from the messenger !
But in these days I had to visit a slightly different impression: a week in hospital !
So, this will be my second chance to see Anouk at the Pepsi Stage in Amsterdam !
It's a presentable concert hall, and I liked the way how the hall was set up.
If you're not standing in the front, the floor went higher if you move backwards, so everyone had a very good view what was happening on the stage.
We had a very big laugh when Anouk was saying that she was wearing the same outfit as Trijntje Oosterhuis at the TMF Awards... !
She was wondering to change but the audience decided that this dress was fine.
Trijntje Oosterhuis is a great performer from Holland, too ! Love her very much !
22 April 2003, Shakira in Rotterdam
We waited a very long time before the doors were going, running and running faster thru the Ahoy to choose the best view for Shakira tonight.
I think there was no need for a support act, but there was one.
Okay, time for Shakira. But... where is she ?
Waiting for Shakira. No Shakira. Waiting again.
The audience was at inconvenience, and many young fans were carried away from the front.
After waiting for one and a half hour, finally, she came up.
The show was great, but the feeling could be really immense when the wait was not that long.
25 April 2003, Anouk in Den Haag
Asking my boss for a half day off, but no reply.
So I was a little late in Den Haag, but in time for Anouk !
We'd make third from the front, but the view still was fine. The show was more than great, feeling her best show she did this year !
Maybe, even better than the Amsterdam a few days ago !
This time, Trijntje was in agreed that Anouk was wearing her dress again !
Anouk and guitar player Leendert many times came close to the audience !
I wished I took my photo camera with !
Outside the hall, Sheila knocked out a male fan who was standing in her way all the time during the performance.
Not so nice, Sheila !
This was my concert week ! I'll sure thinking about many times !
29 April 2003, Anouk in Eindhoven
From five o'clock together with my friend waiting for the Anouk
show at the Frits Philips !
We were lucky ! Together we're sitting before the door that a few hours later was marked with a small note saying that this one will be opened !
And yes ! Just a half hour later we first entered the hall !
I was standing in the third row, and some time later getting the chance in the second for a better view !
Anouk jumped onto the stage while the band started the very first Disconnected song !
A funny thing was at R U Kiddin' Me ! Her mike was falling down after Anouk asked the audience to sing a few lines !
Laughing all the time, Anouk tried to continue the song to make it a special laugh version !
Once at home, this concert still feels like a dream but this time it was for real !
1 May 2003, Westlife in Rotterdam
Didn't you expect that we like some other music too ?
Especially Bryan, Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane from Ireland, their home country !
With two support acts I like Dutch singer Do most !
Also some other stars came up, but I'm not in the mood to mention those ones.
We were standing in a nearly infinite Ahoy arena space with even more infinite other fans everywhere !
The show really was incredible in how it was set up and how it sounded !

Westlife told us that a new concert was coming next year ! See ya in Amsterdam June 4 !
5 May 2003, Anouk in Utrecht
An Anouk show at our National Liberation Day !
It was a very nice day, together with my friend Sheil we're waiting from five o'clock before the closed doors !
Finally the doors went open, so we're running fast to obtain a good view on the stage !
We sure had ! Centered in the second row we saw everything that was going on !
Anouk did a very powerful show, as always in Utrecht, like from March 31 too !
At the end she asked her other guitar player thoughts about this show. Saying it was just homelike, the last Disconnected song has set in.
Going home by train, we were listening the show again !
It really was a hot summer night !
19 May 2003, Anouk in Amsterdam
After my working week being in Belgium, I right away to Amsterdam for the final Anouk show at the Heineken Music Hall, situated just a few meters from the Pepsi Stage since Anouk started her tour.
We didn't have a wait for so long, the doors just going to open !
The Heineken Stage was a huge one. I think much too high !
So I regret I didn't wear my high shoes and I was wondering I better standing on a chair for a better view !
But no chairs available here !
We're standing in the second row, close enough for a good sound.
The show really was unbelievable ! Some songs were played longer and at the end of the show Anouk thanks all the fans, saying it's time to go bed, or not ! See ya next time !
The next day, hurry up to Denmark for a short week ! I'll take this show with me to listen again !
28 June 2003, Anouk at Rock Werchter
Saturday was Nook @ on Rock Werchter !
She was on the main stage, of course, or did you think somewhere else ?
The show was great... and everyone was going crazy about Anouk.
You almost couldn't see that she was pregnant, even when she said she better stay
calm for the baby in an interview for Studio Brussel.
But she did her thing, like Noukie always does, with or without a baby.
The Belgium newspaper said that you couldn't see that she was pregnant.
The same on the VTM News, she was going very hard.
In the afternoon, not many songs were played on the radio, just an interview and Sacrifice, which she did very beautifully, a few lines only from Graduated Fool, and last but not least R U Kiddin' Me, I think this was one of her best... she did it very well.
Also I heard Nobody's Wife, and the crowd joined in loudly.
And yes, as she always does, in another version.
She was cool... really powerful... fantastic.
I'll sure everyone thought she was super and there must be a great, funny atmosphere.
Regrettable I couldn't be there but some fans told me the show was terrific and the place was overcrowded with singing and wildly jumping people.
You'll get another report from another show very soon !

7 August 2003, Anouk at Lokerse Feesten
This is a terrific Anouk show from 23.30 until 0.50 o'clock !
Before Anouk came up, the audience was tuning and stuff, that was pretty boring !
It took some time, but what else could you do than waiting ?
When Anouk came up, the audience turned into one big, a wild and happy crowd, it was cool !
The feeling was great also !
After the Disconnected song, she was tying up her shoestring while a girl throws baby shoes.
She is, just like me, a great fan too, nevertheless that it was my first time seeing Anouk live.
Too Long already started.
In spite of her pregnancy, she couldn't stop herself onstage, she was going on hard all the time !
At Nobody's Wife we joined in, with Sacrifice and R U Kiddin' Me we also loudly did.
After every song everyone was screaming and whistling !
The atmosphere was pretty amazing.
After the Searching song Anouk wanted to say what the next one will be, but suddenly a man interrupted: heey Anouk, I want to have sex with you !
Anouk responded: what are you now saying ?! you want to have sex with me ?!
She continued in a lower voice: do you really think I'm still that good looking? while she was pointing at him: man, I love you.
The man said something else which wasn't understandable.
Just before Anouk begins I Live For You, the same man again about sex with her.
She came forward with a very angry face saying: what do you want with me !! with a loud laugh, you could see it wasn't meant vilely.
If I had to describe this concert with one word I say: magnificent !
Whatever you may say, it was a great, super, fantastic, great show !
13 June 2004, Anouk at the Njoy Festival
An Anouk performance in the sun !
It was just in the morning when we traveled away by crowdy train. While most people were going to the fun fair, we had different programs of course !
Plenty of time having, we first walked around and eat some !
Everyone knows Anouk's playing the second performance today, but all fans were already screaming for her while the first playing band hadn't finished yet ! Yes! Only You she started, followed by I Live For You !
All photographers, except the best one Joseph Voncken, had to move and the band set in Home Is In My Head, a somewhat older song that didn't appear on her first album but on her very first single. This live version sounds even better !
At R U Kiddin' Me everyone jumped and sings along. Everyone was somewhat quiet at the Michel song, to get on again from Nobody's Wife to the closing song The Dark !
23 September 2004, Anouk in Utrecht
Anouk again acoustic ! We really have to review that the Graduated Tour is her best !
At my working place, I couldn't wait for closing time to set up a high speed being sure in time for the show tonight. At five I picked up Sheila from the station, but first we have to eat something ! I guess I didn't enjoy the food very much. I want to go to the concert hall as quick as possible !
At six, we're arriving the Vredenburg closed doors and we sit down on the floor. We're lucky that this concert hall was placed inside the shopping center, because it started to rain cats and dogs.
We were a bit unrelaxed when we're running as fast as we can into the hall to obtain a good place. Many fans thought the same. It was very, very crowdy.
And yes, we saw two empty chairs centered in the third row waiting for us ! Just in time, a few minutes later the music hall was completed.
Anouk started with God Give Me Strength, a very nice song she did earlier at Radio's 4 Boy Edgar Jazz contest. I couldn't believe my ears when she did her first never heard before song Heaven Knows ! Followed by songs as Jerusalem, Lost, One Word a.k.a. Star In Heaven, Girl and songs from the Graduated Tour in acoustic versions make this evening to one of her very best shows !
30 September 2004, Avril Lavigne in Amsterdam
Tonight I'll see Avril Lavigne live !
We're a bit late, and it was already dark outside when we arrived the Heineken Music Hall. The doors were open yet and we could make the sixth row.
I forget the support act, we're just trying to get away from a scary looking group, excessive drinking and pushing all the time. It seems they're not here because the music, but looking for some problems. Just the support was still busy with their last song, many people were moving away and there suddenly was a big empty space. This was a big chance getting closer to the stage and creates much more distance from that overdoing group. We're now standing in the third row standing between very young Avril Lavigne look alikes with their parents. They were very friendly and don't mind we came forward.
Also, the sound was much better now, but still not adjusted to top quality.
After a long break, Avril started half past nine with her great song He Wasn't. I like the lyrics saying Monday's coming the day I hate ! While many jumping fans sing along my second fave song My Happy Ending already started.
The ambiance was pretty good, especially when Avril was going acoustic with Tomorrow and Fall To Pieces. But At Nobody's Home ( not Nobody's Wife ! ) all heavy guitars return until eleven the end of the show to reach an absolute peak with her Complicated song !
8 December 2004, Anouk in Amsterdam
I'd give up. I did many competitions to obtain a ticket for the Showcase concert. Anouk will do a small concert to promote her latest Hotel New York album and tickets were only available by winning through some competitions. No luck for me.
So, today will be another boring day at my working place doing my job without Anouk's great show tonight.
It was half past three I got a call from a very good friend. She asked me : How are you ? I said : Not all that great. She continues : Maybe you like to attend the show for tonight, I won two tickets and I was going with a friend, but today she's not in the mood to visit ... I said : What !
My boss, somewhat listening our conversation, already understood : yea that's really great, you better hurry now for being there in time !
First I had to go home to pick up my stuff for this show, and at the train station my friend was there too ! At half past seven, we finally arrived the Melkweg and we have a good sight at the stage !
Anouk started with Fading, one of my fave quit songs. The Alright song also was never heard before, and it was more than great ! With the songs played before at The Easy Going Tour, such as Heaven Knows, One Word, Jerusalem, Our Own Love and Girl in a heavy rock version, make this night one of her very best performances !
2 November 2005, Beth Hart in Rotterdam
Just after our Indian summer, a rainy evening to start new concert series in November and December !
The first one will be Beth Hart live in Nighttown, Rotterdam for an acoustic performance.
About fifteen fans get hold of a table with a chair, then some fifty fans having a chair only ! Thereafter the other fans were stuffed in the space left over standing in this very small music hall.
It seems that Anouk after her Easy Going Tour has sold her lamp on the piano to Beth Hart ! Having a feeling of home, Beth Hart came up starting the show with three songs from her latest album : I'll Stay With You, Hiding Under Water and Learning To Live in acoustic versions !
However, also her somewhat older songs she didn't forget !
Her show reaches an absolute top with Lifts You Up and Me & Bobby McGee ! After the break, her great song called Leave The Light On ! ( I guess the lamp on the piano )
The show was over some later and we go home through a rainy Rotterdam. It was a nice evening !
9 November 2005, Anouk in Antwerp
Our concert series continues ! With previously planning, the day to Antwerp has come !
Early in the morning out of my bed ! Two o'clock we arrived Antwerp, directly going to our delightful hotel close to Sportpaleis. At five we visit a pizzeria heaving a good meal !
Just one hour later, we arrived the Antwerp Sportpaleis. We expect lots of fans already standing in the rows for hours, but we saw a few fans sitting and waiting. Close to half past six, suddenly many fans added before the closed doors. It was crowded very soon.
The doors went open at half pas six exactly and we're running hard much as we can to get close to the stage ! And yes, we're in the first row !
I forget the support act, they're just producing lots of noise. At nine, Anouk's starting with Love, walking around the stage. When Only You sets in motion, all guitars playing and the stage becomes a big happening ! All fans sing along during One Word !
The entire show was absolute huge, fantastic and complete ! During over two hours with all great songs such as : R U Kiddin' Me, Sacrifice, Too Long, The Dark, Jerusalem, It's So Hard and many, many more !
The absolute top certainly was Girl, no need to say more ! The show ends with Lost, fans sing along the first lines. Anouk slowly disappeared off the stage. We're both really glad that we stay here for her second show next week !
25 November 2006, Anouk in Amsterdam
A special show at the NDSM location accessible for anyone who bought a pair of trousers at Levi's ! The fasted way to get there, this time, is travelling by boat !
Beside many playing DJs while you're sitting in old fashioned chairs, you could pass a large white curtain from eight o'clock, running to the stage.
But it was half past ten when Anouk appears ! With a never seen before outfit, she did a top show started with Sacrifice, she only did before at Lowlands.
While the audience was calm and quiet during the preceding acts, now everyone is jumping and singing along. Many songs seem to be edited. The Dark now got special sound effects, a long and special version of Jerusalem, a long intro for Graduated Fool and an extended version of Home Is In My Head. The songs Lost, More Than You Deserve and Everything were played catchy ! All made this show a spectacular one !
